Anurognatus is a short necked pterosaur. Most pterosaurs have long necks but this species is known for both its short neck and its frog shaped face. This piece of amber is approximately 9.5cms x 6.5cms. The amber contains a large shrimp like insect larvae, a complete dragonfly with its wings open in flight pose, several small insects and beetles and of course the Dino-bat, the frog faced pterosaur, the anurognathid. So far we have a nice selection of photographs and a CT scan with sample renders as well the original raw data made freely available should you wish to download the reconstructed image stack and attempt your own renders. We have provided links under the image for those who would like more imagery.
